Our services

Our Harvest Pantry lets you choose your own groceries. We also offer ready-to-eat Sunshine Bags, share extra food on our surplus table, support families with children and deliver to people who cannot come in.

Harvest Pantry program

Our client-choice shopping program, built around dignity and choice.

We used to distribute pre-made hampers. In October 2024, we launched the Harvest Pantry client-choice shopping program with the help of Moose Jaw Co-op.

Today, you can choose your own groceries in a market-style setting, selecting staple items and surplus goods that suit your household's needs and preferences. This choice supports dignity, reduces food waste and helps individuals and families eat well.

The program is supported by our retail partners and generous donations from local farmers and people across Moose Jaw.

The pantry is open by appointment. Our home delivery program also supports people with mobility challenges.

Sunshine Bags

Ready-to-eat food for people without a place to call home.

Sunshine Bags are pre-made hampers for clients who are unhoused. Each bag contains food that does not need to be cooked, to help support you through the week alongside meals offered by other community agencies.

Come into the food bank and ask a staff member for a Sunshine Bag. You can receive 1 bag per client per week.

Surplus table

Extra food anyone can take, no booking needed.

Food we need to share quickly goes on the surplus table in our lobby. You do not need an account or an appointment. A sign shows how many items you can take.

Some items may be past their best-before date or come in dented cans. They are still safe to eat, but check them and use your judgement. If you are shopping that day, visit the table after your food is weighed.

Mighty Munchkins

Helping Moose Jaw children grow, learn and thrive.

A little food. A mighty difference.

It started with a local teacher who saw children struggling to learn on an empty stomach. School lunches helped, but families needed nutritious food at home, too.

Today, Mighty Munchkins is our food bank's way of helping fill that gap. We provide families with food for growing children, supporting full lunch boxes, meals at home and energy to learn and play.
